At Brown's Heavy Equipment, we are dedicated to providing fast, quality service, dependable rental equipment, and a vast selection of quality parts, serving Ames and the surrounding area since 1980.
Servicing heavy equipment is what Brown's Heavy Equipment has been doing since 1980. Our team has a wide array of mechanical knowledge and experience on many different makes and models of earthmoving and construction equipment.
From repairing a small oil leak and doing routine engine services to complete machine rebuilds, we can do it all. In 2011 we expanded our business and took on our first dealership with Doosan (now known as DEVELON) while also adding a rental fleet to offer heavy equipment. With that we started servicing Scania engines and added Montabert and Geith for quality excavator attachments.
In 2015, we installed a full-service industrial paint booth at our shop, one of the largestsingle stall paint booths in Iowa, and now can make sure even the largest of equipment can look brand new, even after years of service in the field. That same year we dove deep into the Aerial side of equipment by becoming an Authorized JLG Service Center to further accommodate our customers’ needs.
In 2016, we added an Online Parts Store so our customers can get ahold of the most specialized, hard to find parts at a moment's notice. As we have gotten deeper in repairs for telehandlers, boom lifts and scissor lifts, we’ve partnered with highly trusted brands; Skyjack, Genie, MEC, Snorkel, Xtreme, Niftylift and Sinoboom. Brown's Heavy Equipment is an authorized service and parts provider for DEVELON, JLG, Montabert, Geith, Fleco, Skyjack, MEC, Snorkel, Xtreme, Niftylift, Sinoboom and Scania who serves Ames and the surrounding area. We are proud to carry a large selection of new and pre-owned inventory.

Brown's Heavy Equipment has over a 25,000 square foot facility located in Ames, Iowa. It offers 7 full enclosed bays to fit all sizes of equipment with 3 overhead cranes, a wash bay and a full-size paint booth.
As a JLG® Authorized Service Center, Brown's Heavy Equipment provides quality service and parts for aerial work platforms and telescopic forklifts. We offer over 80,000 replacement parts (oem and aftermarket) for various models of telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment.
